Wooden buildings

Wooden buildings are a great way to add greater rooms and buildings to your property. There is an increasing increasing choice of plans, woods, finishes, windows and more, you can have the perfect building for you and your family.

Once upon-a-time we all lived in wooden buildings, but the developments of more modern building materials saw wood actually decline as a building material. Fast forward to today where people are increasingly environmentally conscious and looking to surround themselves with more natural materials, and wood buildings are actually making a resurgence.

Since those early days of wood homes techniques have progressed a lot. Today's log structures come in a wide variety of layouts. The walls can be thin, thick or even thicker. The walls can be insulated with renewable materials such as straw and wood. The best wood cabins today have double glazing.

Now log buildings are generally more energy efficient that concrete or brick buildings from previous years. The materials used to build wooden houses come from sustainable forests, where domestic woods are grown, giving the greatest consideration for nature. As well as being warmer, but more environmentally friendly as well.

Wood cabins, and other wooden buildings can be used for many different purposes. You can add extra space to your house, and garden buildings, garages, workshops, offices, and more.

Wooden buildings are generally easier to build than concrete buildings. Those keen and experienced with DIY can construct a log houses without too many specialist tools. Obviously a helping hand from a family member is always a help.

Once log cabins are constructed they are adaptable to meet the changing needs of your home. Extra doorways and furniture can be easily integrated within the building. Because of the natural material, and natural oils in the woods, wooden houses retain their beautiful smell for years. With just a little wood care treatment the smell can remain for the lifetime of the building.

With wood being such a light friendly resource wood cabins and wood cabins generally are very light buildings. With such a great selection of windows there is no excuse for dark or cold rooms anymore.

Imagine that you have a new, beautifully smelling, wood, light guest bedroom in your garden that you could show your visitors too. Wouldn't you be delighted to stay in such a room? Almost like having a holiday in your own garden.

Whatever you need more space for, wood houses are a great solution.
